As the universe expands, so does the number of continents and countries that send participants to the European Music Festival for Young People in Neerpelt. At the 67th EMJ (May 3rd – 6th, 2019) ensembles and orchestras from 29 countries will participate.
This is a record, because never before, so many countries delegated groups to the EMJ.
Traditionally our country (Belgium), The Netherlands, Germany and some Eastern European countries send the largest number of groups. But on the other hand, there are also countries that have not so often been represented at the EMJ. Just think of countries such as Finland, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Switzerland and Mexico. As in previous editions, almost 100 ensembles and orchestras have confirmed their participation. The number of young people who will soon be on stage at the EMJ, will once again be around the 4,000. The growing number of countries sending groups to Neerpelt shows that the EMJ, more than ever, is the epicenter for young people to meet and appreciate each other through music and song. It also shows very clearly that the EMJ throughout Europe and other parts of the world, is particularly appreciated and highly regarded on the international musical ranking. The complete list of participating ensembles and orchestras can be found on www.emj.be ‘2019’.
