After the disastrous earthquake in Japan on March 10 we were wondering what had become of the members of the Mlya Sanjo OG Choir from Sendai who participated in the EMY 2008 edition. We were truly worried. Eventually we received - from the IJCO WINDS orchestra from Tokyo – the comforting message that all of them are safe and have survived the disaster though some of them have lost beloved ones in the catastrophe.
Currently the choir is performing in and around Sendai to help inhabitants cope with the horryfying disaster.
In spite of the difficult situation the IJCO Winds orchestra from Tokyo will be performing in O.C. De Vranken – Neerpelt on May 1. We call on all of you to come and support them numerously. Mr. Kaki, our Japanese contact person, insists on letting us know that all Japanese are extremely grateful for all the help they are getting from around the World.
