The Belgian composer KImber Bex was born in The Hague in 1991. Being the daughter of a diplomat, she has travelled the world. Travelling and music are meat and drink to her. From the age of five on she studied music - solfeggio and playing the piano - at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Later she attended lessons at conservatories and academies where her father's work took her.
Currently she is studying European Sudies at the The Hague College and taking private lessons in composition with Kurt Bikkembergs in Louvain. This has resulted into a first publication with publishing company Euprint and her "Ave Maria, benedicta tu" has been selected for the Neerpelt EMY 2012.
Various projects and commissions are on the stock.
For the 60th EMY Kimber Bex has composed "Ave Maria, benedicta tu", the compulsory song for the B-category, the category for the single voice youth choirs.
