Year after year EMY introduces itself by means of a new poster. The 62nd poster to announce the 2014 edition is ready now. It was created by Terry Weckx from Hechtel-Eksel. Under the guidance of her teacher Carine Van Gerven who is also involved in the EMY-board, Terry attended art-classes at the Wico campus Mater Dei in Overpelt. Later she took painting lessons at the Saint-Mary Institute in Antwerp and at the Academy for Plastic Arts "Meylandt" in Heusden-Zolder. Currently she works as a full-time designer at Bioracer.
"How do you get started when designing a poster for EMY?"
Terry Weckx: "Quite spontaneously, in fact. After I had heard about the poster-contest of EMY, I tried to put something onto paper. I was guided by ideas that bubbled up in my head while trying to focus on the choir theme. Do not look for any hidden meaning in the poster. I always draw simple figures. Also the ones on the 62nd poster radiate simplicity. Just use your imagination, and you will see what you are looking for in the drawings on the poster."
