Other concerts FAQ
The European Music Festival provides the ensembles with the opportunity to participate in other concerts, besides the mandatory jury concerts. Visitors are welcome on these concerts as well. You can find the information on ticket sales here. The organising committee will do its utmost to provide the ensembles, who apply for this, with one extra concert or workshop, besides the mandatory jury concert. Naturally everybody is free to attend the jury concerts as a visitor. Among others, the following concerts will be available:

Proclamation

The proclamation is always one of the climaxes of ervery festival day. All participating ensembles being present, receive their performance quotations during an overwhelming event. All ensembles who have finished their jury concert that day are present on this proclamation. During the proclamation Ludwig von Beethovens "Alle Menschen werden Brüder" will be sung by everybody. Text and melody will be printed in the programme leaflet everybody receives upon check in. The diploma received will be handed out during this proclamation. In order to do this, the conductor and one of the youngest members of the group will take place on the reserved space close to the stage. They will be accompanied by festival staff. Visitors can freely attend these proclamations and take place on tope of the tribune.


Happening

The happening is an evening concert, performed by a few selected participating ensembles. The concert's programme will be determined by the organizing committee, in consultation with the selected ensemble's conductors. The scores for the joint programme of this concert are sent to the selected groups in advance so that they can start practising before the festival starts. During a festival workshop, guided by a noted guest conductor, all selected ensembles will finalize the concert's programme togehter.

Laureate concerts

On Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st 2011, the festival organizes a laureate concert: an evening concert with performances of ensembles that are from an exceptional quality. The festival organization will select a few of the best ensembles to perform during this sublime concert - visited by numerous friends, sympathizers, members of the jury and acknowledged music connoisseurs. Every selected ensemble is OBLIGED to participate. You can find information concerning ticket sales for these laureate concerts here.


Fraternization concerts

During the festival days, fraternization concerts, which give participating ensembles the opportunity to present themselves and their national culture to others as well as to each other, are organized in Neerpelt and surrounding villages. These concerts have a relaxed character, in which a light programme is performed and by which fraternization leads the way. These concerts have nothing to do with the jury concerts, are free accessible and very loved by the lager audience.


Other concerts

Extra concerts will be organized in Neerpelt and surrounding villages on Friday April 29th, Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st 2011: afternoon, evening, school, opening and aperitif concerts anda festival mass  If you are interested in participating in one of these concerts, you can indicate so on your application form. Please, send us a repertoire (free of choice) of 10 minutes.
As visitor, you are naturally free to attend these concerts as well. You can obtain information about possible ticket sales at the Festival's administration.

Farewell Party

As goodbye all festival participants and festival staff are invited to a large farewell party in the sports hall of the Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof. Making music or working is not necessary anymore. Everybody is free to relax and enjoy the cosy atmosphere of a large European party. This music and dance party will take place in the sports hall of the Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof and is not publicly accessible.
