Repertoire and length
Every ensemble that registers for participation in the European Music Festival for Young People has to perform one mandatory jury concert. The repertoire and length of the programme depends on the category the participating ensemble has been appointed to. You can find a clarification of category division and linked requirements under registration. Each ensemble has to compile its own repertoire for the jury concert according to the category rules. You can determine the order of the individual pieces upon registration. Changes of repertoire or order of the individual pieces are only allowed as exception and only with explicit and written permission of the organising committee. The deadline to apply for this permission is 15 February 2010. After this date the proposed programme has to be presented in the established order, with no exception.
All programmes of the participating ensembles will be printed in the programme leaflet. This booklet will be available for purchase at the entrance of every concert hall for €3 a piece.
Sheet music
Upon registration as participant one copy of every score will be delivered to the Festival's administration. This copy will be used to check the registration file and will remain in possession of the festival.
Before the jury concert every participating group hands the jury secretary three folders with in each folder one copy of all scores, in the order in which they will be presented. Clearly indicate the name and city of origin of the ensemble on these folders, as they will be returned by the jury secretary immediately after the performance. The scores delivered upon registration will not be accessible.
Careful: The use of copied sheet music is prohibited by Belgian law. Groups break this law at their own risk. We strongly recommend the use of the original copies of the score.

Presence
All participating groups are to be present in the concert hall one hour before their performance. Warm up and dressing rooms will be provided in the vicinity of the jury concert. These rooms are not to be used as rehearsing area. Rooms for rehearsal need to be reserved with the Festival's administration beforehand. Rooms for rehearsal can be provided for maximum one hour and this as long as there are rooms available. |

Stage
To ensure an efficient use of stage time, comings and goings on stage are regulated as follows: while group 1 performs before the jury, group 2 stands ready in the side room. After the performance of group 1, they will leave the concert hall through the main doors, while group 2 comes on stage and group 3 gets ready in the side room, etc.
Silence
It is self-evident that complete silence is mandatory in all halls of the jury concerts. During the performance nobody is allowed to enter or leave the room and it is not allowed to take photos. Entering and leaving the room is only permitted when an ensemble has finished their complete programme. |
